We’d be thrilled to have you join us for a service! To help you feel right at home with our church family, we’ve put together answers to some common questions to guide you as you plan your visit.
Living Word Bible Church meets at Town Creek Elementary School in Winnabow, North Carolina, just a few minutes south of Leland. Our Sunday worship service begins at 10:30 am. If you are looking for a church in the Leland or Winnabow area, we would be glad to have you join us this Sunday.
When Do You Meet?
We meet on Sundays at 10:30 am.
Where Do You Meet?
We meet in the gym at Town Creek Elementary School, located at 6330 Lake Park Dr SE, Winnabow, NC 28479.
What Do I Wear?
Wear what is comfortable for you. Some people dress up; others wear jeans or shorts. Most of our folks wear business casual.
What About My Children?
We’re glad you’re bringing your children. We believe children are not just “the future of the church,” but part of our church family right now.
During the first part of the service – announcements, singing, and Scripture reading – children stay with their parents in the main room. Please don’t worry about noise or movement; both are expected and welcomed.
During our greeting time, parents of children ages 0 to 3 may take them to the nursery, and children ages 4 to 7 are invited to go with their teachers to our children’s class.
Both the nursery and the children’s class are staffed by trained volunteers who have passed background checks.
For the children remaining in the service, we provide “busy bags” for younger children and sermon worksheets for older children.
What Are the Services Like?
Sunday Worship Services
We desire for our worship to be pleasing to the Lord and for our fellowship to be encouraging to one another.
Worship at Living Word is reverent, joyful, and intentionally congregational. We sing a blend of rich hymns and modern worship songs that are theologically strong and rooted in Scripture. With a simple band, our worship in song prepares our hearts to hear verse-by-verse preaching from God’s Word.
We sing, pray, read Scripture, and then spend time greeting one another. Our sermons are expository and usually verse by verse through a book of the Bible. The sermon usually lasts about 45 minutes. The entire service is about an hour and a half.
What Else Do You Do?
We observe Lord’s Supper together once a month, and we have baptism services once or twice a year, typically at the beach.
Several times a year, we enjoy a potluck fellowship meal together after the service.
Seasonal outreach activities such as workdays and soccer camps allow us to serve others in our community.
Short-term mission trips broaden our global perspective as we share the gospel and support missionaries in various nations.
